As experienced pediatric radiologists, we understand that quality diagnostic imaging services require more than a competent interpretation of a patient imaging study presented on a computer screen. We believe that access to pertinent clinical information prior to image interpretation is an important factor in assuring an accurate and clinically useful radiology report. We work with technologists and nurses to protocol complex cases prior to performance of the study. We monitor both imaging study technique and radiologist interpretations for quality improvement opportunities. Critical results are immediately communicated to the appropriate clinician. We provide partner practices with QA and critical result data on an ongoing basis to document compliance with hospital policies and joint commission requirements.
